Hi,

I have booked my MR2 in with Paul for the conversion, but its the wife's car, and she wants to know what it will run like and how it will handle.

Is there anyone who has done one, who lives in the the London area that would'nt mind two little kids (us) meeting up with them and drooling uncontrollably while they showed us their car???

If not London then anywhere near London???

Its that mk2 syndrome again, always going backwards. See really need a mk1 V6 instead :)

Gotta make up for Owen not being here so I'll post those comments instead :)

I'd check the tyres mate if it spins out too easily, crap tyres on the rear will always help the back do its non grip trick.

Hense the reason all mk2 turbo's should be fitted with Nangkangs as standard to increase the avaliable engines for the mk1's :)

On a more serious note, you won't regret the swap at all and I'm now well jealous that your getting to see Whoozys car.

Funny you should say that! New tyres are definately on the list - ain't no Mk1scavengers getting near my toy!

If the TRD ones are fetching that much, its now time for someone to shove on a Rotrex.

Well, yeah, the Rotrex units are 1300-1500 quid IIRC - depending on the unit you buy.

Add in the cost of the manifold, mouting, plumbing, standalone it will need and you've got an expensive project :(

only as dear as a custom turbo setup though eh johhny 1500 for turbo then custom fannymoulds moutings plumbing standalone intercooler/chargecooler uprated sparkplugs injectors fuelpump ect.
horses for courses plus i would be a bit worried over second hand turbos or superchargers u just dont know how much abuse they have had.

Well, the only benefit of the turbo really is that it can change the boost easily, well, easier than an S/C - the need for intercooling is less though on the S/C if you go Screw or Centri - they run cooler, so the intercooler can be smaller.

That aside, they'll need a fair bit of fabrication to fit.
